Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller, to become a key member of our accounting and finance team. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the accounting and compliance of certain Hungarian (and other locations as needed) entities of the multi-national Jasmin Group.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Responsibility over the General Ledger of Hungarian (and other locations) based entities, ensuring integrity of financial records.
• Lead monthly General Ledger closing process on your scope of entities with periodic audit file preparation for the entities in area of responsibility, including preparation of management accounts.
• Actively participate in the conversion and implementation from Luxembourg GAAP to IFRS.
• Timely production of statutory financial statements and other returns.
• Participation in development of accounting processes and internal controls, documentation of policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Monitoring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and other statutory requirements.
• Preparing VAT returns and other taxation calculations together with Tax Counsel.
• Mentoring team members with regards to more complex accounting transactions.
• Supporting the company’s mission, vision values and goals in the performance of daily activities.

Requirements & essential knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related – Master’s degree a plus
• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) in current standing

• 5 to 7 years in a similar role in multinational company, previous team management experience is an asset

• Accounting expertise for complex transactions, coaching and developing of the team’s technical skills
• International experience a plus
• Industry experience (Live-streaming, Telecom, Payment Service) preferred
• Internal control experience (SOX or equivalent) a plus
• Governance structure, tax environments and rules exposure
• Excellent computer skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles

• Fluent in English and Hungarian, any other languages are an asset
