We are looking for an Accountant, reporting to the Head of Accounting, to become a key member of our accounting and finance team. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the accounting and compliance of certain entities, as assigned, of the multi-national Jasmin Group. You are able to fully close smaller entities and deliver a significant contribution to the closing of more significant entities.
Task and Responsibilities
Completeness and documentation of financial records:
Ensure accuracy of the general ledgers for all assigned entities, including understanding revenue recognition, income taxes, etc. prepared by other departments.
Record manual journal entries, with appropriate supporting documentation.
Prepare or obtain account reconciliations so that all balance sheet positions are supported monthly.
Compliance of the financial records with the Jasmin Group policies and procedures:
Respect strict closing deadlines, including daily processing of bank transactions.
Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
Fulfilment of regulatory obligations associated with each entity:
Prepare annual statutory financial statements on a legal entity basis and prepare any other tax filings or other reporting obligations.
Ensure compliance with intercompany recharging mechanisms.
Participate in other projects as required.
Actively support and participate to the conversion to IFRS of the Jasmin Subgroup
Participation in development of accounting processes and internal controls, documentation of policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
Preparing VAT returns and other taxation calculations together with Tax Counsel.
Supporting the company’s mission, vision values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
Requirements and Essential Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related a plus
Previous experience in a similar role preferred – strong university scores with no experience to be considered
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel with an affinity for learning new systems
Basic understanding of accounting principles and applications
Fluent in English, any other languages are an asset
Self-starter and team player with a proactive attitude
Ability to prioritize and to work under pressure and time constraints
Ability to manipulate large volumes of data
High quality written and verbal communication skills
Professional and customer focused, solution oriented with strong professional skepticism – you like to challenge the existing
Passionate and curious person with drive, willingness to make things happen in a fast moving and multi-cultural environment
Ability to take direction and learn from mistakes
